Duties-Performs admission assessment including H&P and ongoing assessments including safety, infection control and health education. Carries out physicians orders using sound nursing judgment. Utilizes written and computer skills to complete patient/unit forms and records. Performs or delegates the task of carrying out the appropriate treatments for the patients. Demonstrates competence in CPR Intervenes in mental &/or physical patient crisis situations. Will upon admission and throughout hospital stay, institute discharge planning as needed with the appropriate agencies or personnel. Orients &/or assigns new personnel to be appropriately oriented. Other duties as assigned. Must be willing to cross-train to other departments.
Qualifications-Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed to practice within the state of Kentucky. Must have a minimum of an Associate Degree. Previous experience preferred. Must have BLS certification. ACLS certification preferred. Must maintain continuing education credits as established by KBN.
